American Sign Language with Victoria Baker

In this 13 week course, come and explore American Deaf Culture and learn the basics of American Sign Language to include the alphabet, many vocabulary words, all about the difference between signing English, Total Communication and ASL (you mean there is a difference?). The instructor is a 1989 graduate of Gallaudet University’s Counseling program (Master of Arts). Victoria was part of the DPN (Deaf President Now protest which is included in Disability History and part of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.) Come out and ask all of the questions you have always wanted to ask about Deafness and Sign Language……..one fun fact listed here as a teaser is: No - Sign Language is NOT universal. Each country has their own sign language system. You have to come to class to find out what is universal and how we know this is true! You will get a prize if you remember to ask this question on the first day of class.
